Four of Cups

a card for the week - the luxury of closed systems

Good morning!

As you know, I write mostly about poetry, creativity, and ritual. A personal ritual for me has always been tarot. (I’ve read quite a few of your cards!) I don’t always talk about tarot, because I know people have a whole host of associations. But last week, I shared thoughts about my weekly tarot pull in a short audio file to my paid subscribers. This week, I’m doing so again, because of the encouraging messages folks sent - thank you! (I’m sharing a preview with everyone this time too, in case anyone else is interested in receiving these more often - subscribe!)

This single cared practice gives me an anchor for contemplation for the week. This week’s card is the Four of Cups - a easy resting place, but not my favorite energy to linger in.

Some of you read, or are learning tarot, or are tarot lovers. If that’s you, I welcome your thoughts, alternate interpretations, and questions. Some of you are skeptics - hooray! Consider these cards as reminders of archetypal figures & energies. The messages are often applicable to our lives and give us a good jumping off point for contemplation or, equally important, resistance.
